Here's what Port Moody residents need to know about voting in the 2026 Election:
Port Moody’s Next General Local Election Will Take Place On October 17, 2026
Eligible voters for the City of Port Moody will elect:

one (1) Mayor;
-
six (6) Councillors; and
-
two (2) School Trustees for School District 43
The Mayor, Councillors, and School Trustees will serve a four-year term from 2026 to 2030.

Polls will be open from 8:00am to 8:00pm PST

VOTE BY MAIL BALLOT:

The mail ballot application form will be available online and at the Legislative Services counter at City Hall (100 Newport Drive) in late August.

Voting by mail ballot is available to all qualified resident and non-resident property electors of Port Moody. Any person who meets the qualifications to vote as either a resident or non-resident property elector in Port Moody can apply to vote by mail.
All mail ballots must be received by the Election Office at City Hall or at an authorized drop-off location by 8:00pm on Saturday, October 17, 2026, in order to be counted for the election.
Please note you must be a Canadian Citizen to vote.
The City uses the Provincial Voters List. If you are on the Provincial Voters List for Port Moody (i.e. you are already registered to vote in previous provincial elections in BC), then you are already registered to vote in the Port Moody election.

Qualified electors for Port Moody can register to vote in two ways:

Register directly with Elections BC until August 18, 2026.

After August 18, 2026, you may register at the time of voting at a voting location on General Voting Day or at one of the Advance Voting Opportunities.
