About Me
I moved to the Lower Mainland in 1994 from Kitimat to attend Simon Fraser University, where I graduated with a Co-operative Education and Joint Major Degree in Political Science, History and French (1999). I “discovered” Port Moody during my years living in residence at SFU. I immediately fell in love with this city and promised myself I’d live here one day.
In 2013, just before the birth of my second daughter, I made that happen and have been proud to build my life and family here ever since. I live in Easthill (part of the College Park neighbourhood), both my daughters attended Glenayre Elementary, and my eldest starts at Port Moody Secondary this September!
After graduating from SFU, I spent 15 years working in corporate finance and business planning for private, going-public and publicly-traded businesses. After having my two daughters and wanting to slow down a bit, I switched to focus on corporate governance and, since 2015, have provided Chief of Staff and Board management to a range of private, public, not-for-profit and government organizations, including working for Mayor and Council in the City of Coquitlam.
I currently work full-time for a national cancer non-profit and serve on the Board of Theatrix YouthTheatre Society, a local non-profit dedicated to delivering performing arts education and experiences to youths. I’m fortunate that my full-time job allows me to commit myself fully to my Council duties and I'm proud to say that I haven’t missed one Council meeting this term.
Since I was first elected in 2022, I’ve focused on strengthening governance, improving financial stability by adding revenue streams, advancing key infrastructure projects like a new Kyle Centre, and expanding public safety, parkland and the arts. We’ve restored working relationships with our neighbouring communities and First Nations partners and increased our tree canopy and protections for our urban forest. We've added hundreds of new daycare spots and I'm proud to say we've added more affordable housing units than the past two Councils combined!
In the last four years I have served as Chair of the Finance Committee, Land Use, City Initiatives and Planning, Strategic Priorities, Parks & Environment, and Arts, Culture and Heritage. I was Vice-Chair of the Task Force on Arts and Business and have served as the Council Liaison for the PoMo Museum and Heritage Society, PoMo Arts, Golden Spike Days Society, and the Tri-Cities Food Council. I have also served on several other committees and entities including the Municipal Insurance Authority and the City/CPKC Community Advisory Panel.
While I'm proud of the progress we've made, there is more to accomplish and see through, and I have a solid plan for achieving it. I believe Port Moody deserves independent voices that will work in the best interests of Port Moody as a whole, not for narrow interest groups or parties that seek to control member votes.
I ask for your vote on October 17, 2026 to keep Port Moody focused on what matters: good governance, infrastructure and traffic improvements, financial accountability, parkland initiatives, and a better business and shopping environment for all. I work hard for my community and always encourage folks to reach out.
Let me continue to make Port Moody an opportunity-filled and affordable place for families, businesses, seniors and future generations to live in….and stay!
